If you've ever thought of purchase a robot vacuum, now's your chance. CNET's top models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday with savings of up to 57%.

1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most intelligent vacuum cleaner robot vacuum to date. Its greatest advancement is an obstacle detection system that makes use of built-in AI to detect objects such as charging cords, shoes, and the pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often slough through). It's the first robot to send you images of objects that it encounters, so you can instruct the robot to avoid it.
The Combo j7+ is also the most effective mop-bot we've ever tested, picking up spills and dirt effortlessly while leaving no trace it was there. It's easy to control using the iRobot Home app that allows you to schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't vacuum areas you do not want it to. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it from start to stop by speaking to it.
The design is also more appealing than the competition. It features an elegant, top piece that appears like an toy, not the loud and annoying robot. Clean Base's automatic floor vacuum Dirt Disposal It also self-empties which will reduce your cleaning time.
In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ swiftly removed dust, dirt, and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in one place rather than sending it scattering all over the floor. It was able capture small gravel, sand and even a tiny bit of grit. Most robots could not achieve this feat. It did all this without getting tangled up in our pet's shedding hair.
The j7+, while not as sophisticated as the Roomba S9 for $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and cannot clean the stairs, is an excellent choice for those who need both mopping and a vacuum. It's not too expensive and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.
Although the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly however, we've found it to be less reliable than other apps that use robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates, and at times it's hard to determine if the update is actually functioning until you've seen it in the action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you want a robot vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean your floors, a hybrid is the best option. These robots come with a water tank, so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. They also come with a variety of extra features such as smart mapping and small object avoidance and the ability to wash and re-dry mopping pads. The negative is that they can be pricey at full retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they are often reduced in price.
Roborock is the manufacturer of some of our favorite robotic vacuum cleaner vacuums, and the Q5+ doesn't perform to the standards. This is the cheapest model in their auto-empty line. Although it might not include some of the luxurious features (like no-go areas and multi-story memories) but it's an excellent choice if you are willing to make some compromises to save a few dollars.
The Q5+ is noticeably gentle around obstacles such as table legs and walls, which makes it a great choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in getting rid of dust bunnies which is a problem where many cheaper robot vac vacuums often fall short. The technology for navigation in the Q5+ is fantastic and has very few missing in corners and along walls.
The Q5+, like other Roborock products, can be controlled by just a few buttons on the device, or via the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleanings. You can also set up schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go areas and modify your home map or re-label rooms.
If you choose the Q5+ it includes a new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make the robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver install, but once it's installed, the process of emptying the bin is relatively easy. It comes with a huge LCD screen which is helpful for setting up schedules or changing settings. This feature isn't required for the majority of people, but it can help you easily keep the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly smart in both its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design and functionality are some of the best on the market however, it's also expensive.
It is a relatively small base station that looks stunning and is able to be concealed when not in use. The station's most appealing factor is its ability to automate numerous tasks and functions that most other robots leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do) also emptying the dustbin after vacuuming, and helps keep your robot fully charged and clean.
Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive as well. It's the only robovac that I've tested that does well at picking up debris from bare floors. And it's not as loud as the expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
The Freo X Ultra is not without faults, particularly when it comes navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs. This means it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain rooms or corners of the house. It also can't climb stairs as well as other competitors and doesn't come with a dock to create a cleaning robots for home zone for carpets that are soft.
Although it doesn't have the same amount of cleaning configuration options in its app, or as many shortcuts in the app like other robovacs the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for those looking for an all-around great robot vacuum and mop that's worth the premium price price.
If you're looking for a way to save money or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of alternatives available. Many of the eufy models cost considerably less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for example, is cheaper and offers a similar in-app experience with more features like stair climbing, a full-function dock, and better overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.
4. Eufy RoboVac g30
Eufy, an Anker company, has a track record of making robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning of hard and carpet floors, as well as mopping functions at an affordable price. It's easy to setup simply by snapping one of the side brushes on, turn it on, and plug it into the charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps needed to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. The dock will need to be placed close to an outlet that has plenty of room to move.
The G30 is a compact device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, which means it can be tucked away under couches and low-clearance pieces of furniture. Its design is less flashy than some of the rival models, with sleek black finishes and three buttons that are physical that control Auto Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which cleans the area in an arc for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do unscheduled cleaning.
The primary characteristic that makes the G30 apart from most competitors is the method it cleans. It makes use of an integrated map to make an image of the immovable objects in its path. It remembers the items it has cleaned and what it is unable to access. When it's time to recharge, it will automatically return to its base, and then resumes cleaning from where it began.
The elegant G30 isn't without faults, though. The iRobot Roomba 675 is better constructed, has lower recurring costs, charges faster and has a similar battery life, while providing better performance on bare floors and carpets with low pile. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn't have to be emptied as often and comes with a set of boundaries that restrict it from certain areas. The G30, on the other hand is more affordable and much more manageable to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't need to be emptied as often, and it has less trouble with bulky materials such as cereal.
