The i3+ is a great option for those looking for a an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but want to manually empty the robot's dustbin after it has filled up.

Both robots are proficient at picking up surface dirt on carpets and hard floors and can maneuver around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home, which help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. However unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots that we tested the i3+ doesn't have a feature for avoiding obstacles which means it can be stuck on things like power cords or socks, and it may have trouble traversing transitions across surfaces, such as from hardwood to carpet.

iRobot recommends you clear out areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, and include clearing out any toys or clutter it may come across. It's also a good idea to keep the dustbin and filter clean so that they do not become blocked by dirt. When the i3+'s internal bin is filled or the battery is low, it returns to its docking station, automatically emptying its debris into the station's dust bin and continues cleaning the area where it began. The i3+ EVO's batteries last for approximately an hour and a half continuous use, and takes about three hours to recharge.

2. Roomba from iRobot

The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line, and it comes with the most recent features. It's self-charging, self-navigating and the most important feature of all -- it comes with a self-emptying dustbin that eliminates one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, which lets it create maps of rooms so that it can clean them more efficiently. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and control your robot with voice or through the app.

The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though, is its self-emptying dustbin that eliminates a major cause of maintenance and cuts down on the amount of time spent cleaning.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the best robot vacuum deals to start, stop or pause its cleaning session, move itself around the room, and even vacuum an area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. We were able, once connected, to give voice commands to the i7+ for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring the performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world filled with cordless vacs that are like minivans and buses, this tiny Dyson model feels like an automobile. It is powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, but also small enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense Lithium-ion battery, which produces energy that lasts for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filtering system captures allergens, and then lets cleaner air into your home. The specially designed head utilizes stiff nylon bristles to drive deep into carpets and collect large dust or crumbs. It has three different suction modes that can be adapted to the specific task. It is able to swiftly switch between handheld and floor vacuum, and vice versa.

The model also comes with docks that charge to 100% in 3.5 hours and provides easy access to two attachments and a clip for a wand. This is a significant improvement over the older Dysons models, which require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.

The V10's main drawback is its limited run time. Its claims on the market that it can last up to 60 minutes of running time are misleading as CR's tests have shown. This is a common, not exceptional, battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. This is enough time to vacuum the typical home however, it's not enough time to get into every corner. This doesn't mean that this model doesn't have its advantages It's lighter and more mobile than the older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming performance is noticeably superior on carpets with a low pile.

It was able to pick up all kinds of debris and sizes during our tests and would often go over the same area several times for an extensive clean. Its flat front end helps it to reach into corners and along the walls' edges, which is a nice touch.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capability of more sophisticated models like our top selections and the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. It can get stuck on phone cords or low furniture and often runs out of power before returning to its home base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtration system, incurs lower cost of recurring costs and is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and can better maneuver itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.

The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery longevity than the Roomba 694. It also has physical boundaries and can be controlled by the voice assistant on your smartphone. It's also more robust, has a more powerful motor, and performs better on floors with low pile and bare.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

In our tests in our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors. It cleaned up 86% of dog hair (on carpet). However, it didn't do particularly well in avoiding larger objects, like cords and socks, which was disappointing.
