Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that auto vacuum and mop and clean provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet messes in one session without the need to switch devices. They can also help save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacles avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads from an appropriate dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking is easy, and the quick-start guide gets you running in no time. It comes with the complete dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that cleans up a mess and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at fast speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.

For instance, you could opt for the robot to clean up the living and kitchen areas but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation technology are excellent too and the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only drawback is that it can smash into walls and other objects at full speed - but an instant glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading, and which obstacles it's avoided.

The docking station comes with an LCD display that indicates the time when maintenance is required like emptying the debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank using a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time as well, with the mop being capable of running for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, while the vacuum is can last for 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is easy to use and intuitive that lets you view all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum with mop vacuum and mop, is the most up-to-date version. In contrast to the model of last year, this one features a double agitator in its mopping pad which greatly improves carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pull up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could overlook.

The Roborock model, like the other two I tried it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like furniture, walls, and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It then can automatically alter its path and clean them without skipping a beat.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed however, it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek and angular design is eye catching, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning process, a mop button that doubles up as a child-lock and a home button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin fills up automatically.

The only issue I encountered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to take off the mount itself to wash it manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mount, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can configure and manage these using the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. You'll need to jump through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with innovative features, superior suction power, and advanced mopping capabilities. Its innovative design allows for customised and efficient cleaning while reducing time.

The X40 robot mop vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry messes. It has a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without the use of a pad. Additionally, the X40 is very quiet during operation, only producing occasional bursts of sound when switching modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.

Another standout feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brush that allows it to reach hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture such as table and chairs' legs. The robot is also able to reach under furniture that is low-profile which makes it a great choice for small apartments or condos. Unlike some other robots that only focus on one thing, the X40 can perform both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or in a series. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, and reverse the process. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and understand, and the X40 has many smart features that are simple to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, see floor plans and mapping, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features, making it an ideal choice for busy families. The docking station can automatically cleans the dustbin and the mop pads and refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect whether the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation before it spills.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. However, it has several features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature in its mop heads, makes use of two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can vacuum up pet hair and smaller dirt particles and also pick up spills and wet spots.

The mops are cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature as it stops the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. It's a system that we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a good method of keeping your home clean for longer.

There are a lot of options, including the ability to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app or there are buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a variety of options for customising the cleaning process, and there are numerous features that other robots don't include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles, rather than using a manual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on market, with metallic and white colors that looks classy and sophisticated. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this list however it's not too heavy. It feels solid and well-built. Mopping is well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. They can even reach down to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature which is a nice feature.
