Illinois as the biggest marketplace in the Midwest and home to over two thousand corporate headquarters, a thriving startup scene and over 1.2 million small enterprises, has all the resources that global businesses require to succeed in today's competitive business. State officials in Indiana are informing employers to provide higher pay and benefits as a way of keeping child care workers in the country as they face a shortage of jobs. This comes following the closure of a care facility located in Bronzeville where it was difficult to retain staff.

Illinois Department of Labor also created an online tool to help small businesses understand labor laws. Employers can search by keyword or browse categories on the site; as well as connect with state agencies and resources.
