French Door Refrigerator With Ice Maker Review

Melding form with function, French-door refrigerators offer stylish double doors that open up to an expansive fridge on the top and a freezer drawer beneath. Special features like door-to-door dispensers, ice machines with higher-end features and adjustable flex drawers make them stand out from the crowd.

We asked Ladina Schopf - interior designer, architect and founder of LS Projects - for her tips on how to select the best one. They considered the storage capacity, layout, and energy efficiency, among other aspects.

GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The name of the series suggests that the GE Profile series what is the smallest size french door refrigerator targeted at consumers who want to incorporate cutting-edge technologies into their kitchens. This fridge is loaded with these, from an inside-the-door Keurig K-cup coffee maker to a clever water dispenser. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. The refrigerator is expensive and I was expecting better.

This fridge is a great choice, despite the blip. It has a large freezer compartment, which is quite uncommon in counter-depth French door fridges, and it holds a fair amount of frozen foods compared to similar models.

The fridge comes with 17 shelves and compartments. The refrigerator compartment has 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is about the same as the size of a Liebherr retro french door refrigerator Door Integrated Fridge (Airsoftmarkt.Nl) door fridge costing this much. It comes with a decent size freezer in the left side. However, it's not the largest one I've seen.

You can alter the shelves in both compartments to create a an individual storage solution. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is also attractive. The LED lighting is a nice feature, and the in-door storage bins come with the third shelf, which can fold down to make it possible to store tall items. The drawers include temperature controls that allow you to set them to Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, however I found their plastic textured coatings to be a bit difficult on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator is equipped with a full suite of features you'd expect from a fridge in this price range, including Wi-Fi and app support via GE's SmartHQ software. The app is available on iOS and Android devices and lets you manage your refrigerator from anywhere across the globe. It also has a lot of customization options. It will also send notifications when the door is left unlocked as well as when the fridge or freezer needs to be defrosted, and when the filter has to be changed.

It would be nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS included Precise fill, an option available in other GE refrigerators that allows you to preset how many cups of water you'd like to dispense at a time. It does have an indicator on the display of the fridge to display how much water you have remaining, but that's not as helpful as Precise Fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The Bosch french fridge freezers uk-door Refrigerator is an impressive product. It's designed to look like a seamless piece in your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a vegetable compartment that keeps vegetables and fruits fresher longer and dual compressors to ensure the best food preservation. The ice maker we tested is one of the most efficient and makes the shape of a pyramid using only water. This fridge is ideal for a single household or kitchenette that needs an attractive design and top of the best food preservation.

This refrigerator was the highest-rated refrigerator in our Refrigerators test, for various reasons. Its freezer temperatures held firm at just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit, and never fluctuating by more than a fraction a degree--this is key in preventing freezing burn. The fridge section of the fridge also performed well. It reached the initial temperature set within a matter of hours, and remained at the temperature throughout our tests.

Bosch has a reputation for high-end appliances which is why it's no surprise that this counter-depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance with the option of connecting to your home Wi-Fi network and Bosch's Home Connect platform. This app allows you to monitor and control your refrigerator remotely on your smartphone or tablet. The fridge is expensive, but it offers top-quality features and functions for the cost.

It's important to understand the limitations of your fridge. You may need to get creative with tall items because the fridge is limited in shelf space. The shelves are not resistant to spills and are easily stained or damaged by sharp objects. The trays are easily removed from the refrigerator. However, they should be cleaned frequently to stop the growth of mold.

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S counter-depth refrigerator is a great option for those who require plenty of space in the space of a compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge features the standard French door layout, with two rows of shelves that can be used to capture spills and a set crisper drawers. The top shelf on the right side can be folded to provide more space for taller items. You'll also find a full-width deli drawer and an internal water dispenser.

This refrigerator has a freezer with an ice maker, making it simple to transfer ice when needed. The freezer has thoughtful design elements, for instance, sliding drawers to help you to organize the place of your items. It comes with a large bin for storing frozen food, and a separate one for ice.

Another cool feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. You can manage the temperature, lighting, and more of your fridge from your smartphone. It's an easy way to monitor your refrigerator and manage it, especially when you're away from home.

However, while the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it doesn't improve the overall performance of the refrigerator. In fact it took longer to defrost and chill foods in this fridge than some of the others we test. This is likely due to its bigger capacity.

Another issue with this refrigerator is its doors. They have handles that are sunken at the front, which allows shorter people to easily open them from the bottom, but they're still difficult for taller people to steer shut without slamming them. It would have been much better if they came with a front-mounted handle.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a ideal option for those looking to combine the advantages of a French-door refrigerator's aesthetics with a more efficient layout. Its capacity is above average for a counter-depth model and it cools well and has a nice layout. It's also a little less than the top counter depth refrigerator with an ice maker, which makes it a great choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you're looking for an french door ice maker fridge door fridge that doesn't cost a fortune this Frigidaire is a solid option. It's a basic design that isn't as striking visually like some of the competitors but it does have enough features to make it a good pick. Its main characteristic is the adjustable temperature drawer, which helps keep foods like veggies and meat fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge water and ice maker dispenser.

The "Chill Drawer", which is located over the two crisper bins, is another nice feature. This drawer allows you to use the majority of your fridge's cooling power to this area, so that you can store foods which need extra attention. You can adjust this feature using an adjustable slider that is located just outside of the drawer. You can also use this feature to adjust the general cooling settings for the whole fridge, but I've noticed that adjusting the generic settings tends to produce better results than specific ones.

In my tests, the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent across all areas of the refrigerator. Temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge did not vary significantly from 38 degrees, and the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. This is a solid performance, but does not quite make it to the top of our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be connected with a smart thermostat in order to obtain more precise readings of the internal temperature of your fridge.

The exterior of the Frigidaire is made from grey-bodied stainless that has a "smudge resistant" finish. It does an excellent job of repelling fingerprints and streaks, even compared to shiny stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tried.
