Top Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos

Robots aren't quite as adept at removing particles like screws made of metal or pieces of pasta. However, they are excellent at cleaning pet hair, dust and food particles. The best models have intelligent navigation and object avoidance features that allow them to maneuver around cords, toys and other obstacles in the household.

1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The iRobot Roomba i3+ is a great robot vacuum that has several smart features that make it easier to maintain. The automatic vacuum bin emptying feature is among the best features we've ever seen in a robotic floor vacuums (a cool way to improve) vacuum. It is a great choice for carpets and hard floors. The app will guide you through the entire process. It's also simple to use and set up. Its ability to resume where it left off during our tests is a great feature. It did this for 77 minutes in one cleaning, before the battery was exhausted.

The i3+ EVO, unlike some of the other robot vacuums that we tested comes with a self-emptying bin that automatically disposes of debris in an external dirt container on its charging base when it's full. This helps reduce the need for hands-on maintenance and keeps the i3+ EVO from overfilling, but it still needs to be manually emptied after every cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dust bin can hold 2.4L which is enough to last four to five cleaning sessions.

Similar to the i7, this model is equipped with state-of-the-art floor tracking sensors to create maps and navigate neat rows. However the i3+ EVO only stores one map, while the i7 has the capacity to store multiple maps. The i7 is also able to use its map to create no-go zones and virtual barriers, but the i3+ EVO is not able to do this.

While the i3+ EVO is more effective at picking up debris on surfaces than the other robovacs that we tested, it's not the best roborock vacuum in terms of cleaning corners and edges. It's also less gentle on furniture, despite being fairly silent. It moved chairs away from walls and caused some collisions with the sides of our bed, and got stuck on cords and toys while testing.

2. Black & Decker Q5 Pro

Whether you're expanding your robot vacuum collection or just beginning your journey, the Q5 Pro is a great option. It packs powerful power, advanced navigation, and handy automation into a sleek and stylish design for a reasonable price. It's the most affordable model for the money you can get right now and even beats some Roborock models that are more expensive in a variety of ways.

This robot is fantastic in cleaning floors that are bare and its avoidance technology helps it steer away from furniture legs or other obstacles. It also performs well on carpets and gets the top score in our navigation tests. The only snag is that it's a little more raucous than the other models we test, and it doesn't fare as well in our owners satisfaction and predicted reliability tests.

The Q5 Pro comes with a large dust bin that is 770ml, meaning that you won't need to empty it as frequently as other 2-in-1 robots. The Q5 Pro's 240-minute run time is also generous when in comparison to other 2-in-1 robots we have tested. If the battery is depleted it goes back to its dock and recharges before continuing cleaning where it left off. You can control the Q5 Pro using the app or voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

This is the first robot we've seen that has 3D mapping. This along with other advances has helped it perform exceptionally well in our vacuuming tests and mopping tests. You can schedule cleanings and create no-go zones. You can also see the battery status. The app is easy to use, even though it doesn't support Apple HomeKit which is slated to be added in 2025. Apple updated its footnote on its website in early November to reflect the fact that this feature has been delayed until 2025. Several other robots don't work with HomeKit however, a lot of them work with Siri Shortcuts.

3. TP-Link Tapo RV30 Plus

If you want a robot vacuum cleaner that is able to mop and is very affordable the TP-Link Tapo R30 Plus is the right choice. It offers an impressive set of features at a reasonable cost and features a stylish design. It can be controlled using the buttons on the machine through the app or even by using voice commands. The device has a long battery life and the vacuum container can be automatically empty.

The TP-Link RV30 Plus does a great job at cleaning up normal messes and is suitable for light mopping on hard floors. It comes with mopping cloths and a replacement sweeping brush and a HEPA filter. It can be paired with a smart home hub, such as Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for easy voice control. The TP-Link RV30 Plus can be easily set up and can be connected to different flooring surfaces using the automatic mode. This will ensure the best cleaning results for every floor and room.

You can select three cleaning options to meet your requirements. The vacuuming mode uses the intelligent sensor to detect of obstacles, such as stairs, furniture and edges. The mopping mode can be used to sweep the floor automatically or to eliminate liquid spills and stubborn stains. You can combine the two features to provide a thorough and deep cleaning.

The Eufy iMop robot vacuum and mop is among the top fully-featured machines for flooring made of hard wood. It comes with a sophisticated navigation system that does an outstanding job of mapping your home's layout even across multiple floor levels. The well-designed base station almost fully automates the cleaning process. It provides excellent obstacle avoidance and navigation.

The model is equipped with an internal dToF LiDAR sensor to map out your home and design efficient cleaning routes. The iMop awed us with its assessment of the effectiveness of navigation and coverage, and it was very good at eliminating obstacles, like furniture. It's also able to locate its way back to the base station, which is a great feature in the event it's running out of battery during a cleaning session.

The spot cleaning mode lets you to clean a particular area of your floor. It can also be manually programmed to follow a specific path. This is ideal for narrow stairs or hallways. It did a good job of cleaning carpets in our carpet cleaning evaluation however, it had trouble with higher pile carpets and rugs. It is also able to automatically raise the mop pad when it encounters carpet, which is a fantastic feature if you want to avoid mopping your carpets.

The iMop features an onboard dust container and an water tank that empties and refills at the end of each cleaning session. It also lets you create virtual walls and no-go zones, to ensure that the robot vac doesn't wander into rooms that are off limits. The app also provides access to the iMop status and warnings about errors.
