Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

item level upgrade upgrade, commonly known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment gives an increase in linearity of a given stat.

Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain an ability to gauge the level of each of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling items scales with their rarity and item level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade to an item level upgrade is a method to increase the stats on your weapons and armor. This can be achieved in a variety of ways such as using upgrade components or by increasing an item's rarity or mark level. A lot of items can be reforged to increase their stats.

Upgradeable items can be found throughout the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be created by players. The most common method of upgrading equipment is through the use of upgrade components, which are components that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment has upgrade slots, and the majority require a certain upgrade level. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while others offer general bonuses.

There are a variety of upgrade elements in the game, such as universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments can be used in any kind of equipment and offer fewer bonuses than those that are equipment-type specific to the type of equipment. Glyphs are only available on gathering tools. They provide a variety bonuses, ranging from boosting the speed at which an item gathers to supplying additional crafting materials.

To upgrade an item, select it from your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The window will show a preview on the right side of the screen showing the expected stats after the upgrade, and any required components or materials. If you don't possess enough of either, the Upgrade button will be marked as Blocked.

The upper-right corner shows the number of upgrade components required for the specific item. The cost of an upgrade increases depending on the level of upgrade and rarity, however it can be reduced by various methods, including purchasing upgrades from a vendor or trading them to other players.

Almost all weapons can be upgraded using a prefix upgrade, such as an insignia or a rune, and many can be upgraded using a suffix upgrade. These upgrades alter the name of the item, adding an adjective, like 'Radiant' or 'Minor Vigor. There are some exceptions, however. the non-inscribable weapons, such as shields and foci from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which are not upgradeable with any mods.

Glyphs

Glyphs are a way to convey information via visuals. They move to draw the attention of the viewer and entice curiosity. The glyphs' animation mimics the body language, making them more effective in conveying the message of a language barrier. Glyphs also evoke a sense of familiarity in the brain, thereby increasing retention of the message.

Each glyph comes with a range of values that it could improve a stat by in the form of an item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use it to enchant an Artifact. This range is not the actual amount by which glyphs can improve a stat, but the maximum value by which it can do so. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the quality and tier of the item you are in awe of it.

Most upgrade components inserted into items can't be replaced or salvaged without removing the gear in question, except for legendary equipment and upgrades. If, however, you have a non-useful rune or glyph that has not yet been added to your gear, you can move it to a different piece of gear by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu within the Glyphs panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the selected glyph.

If you are looking to remove the glyph from an item then you'll need to salvage it with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item on which the glyph is placed will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be salvaged with the glyph shards.

Adding a glyph to an item could cause it to become unstable and the shards that are left of that glyph will disappear from your inventory once you dismantle the item. You can also add the glyph to your equipment to add an extra benefit. For instance the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and distribute it slowly instead of all at one time. This is helpful for players who take many hits from their enemies but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens allow players to alter the affixes on their equipment and weapons, and can be found in a variety of ways, including in mistery boxes or as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or by killing bosses. Each reroll provides the player with an affix randomly chosen and usually better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses.

Items that have been rerolled will not appear in the item upgrade menu, however, they are still eligible to receive upgrades. Rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button that alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to recycle. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item upgrader kit. The amount is determined by the item's rarity and its level, which means items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower-level ones.

In addition to reroll tokens players can also make use of Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to reroll the Weapon Traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls will roll a % chance for a weapon's trait. If it is higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower the weapon is left as it was. Weapons can be repeated up to three times.

A reroll is a good option to upgrade an item, but players must be aware that it can reduce the overall ilvl the weapon based on the number of rerolls required to increase it to the final level. This effect is most evident on Rings and Diadems as they have no other options to raise the ilvl.

The system of rerolls has been criticised by players as being too expensive, and it would be more reasonable to let players pay for it in the form of money or food items that would allow players to alter their builds without spending too much time and effort. The developers aren't planning to implement paid rerolls at this point in the game's development. They are planning to add the ability for players to alter their race in the near future.

Leveling

There are a variety of ways to level up an upgrade for an item. The first way to level up an upgrade to an item is by increasing the upgrade amount. This boosts the value of an upgrade for any stat. The alternative is to increase the effect of an upgrade, which increases the healing or damage for a stat. The base item can be upgraded to a more advanced upgrade type. Once this is done, the new item will retain its iLevel but it will be upgraded with the effects of the upgraded item type.

When upgrading your items it is essential to keep in mind that upgrades are not guaranteed. In the majority of cases, a better roll will come from the glyphs, but there are also possibilities for more or unique rolls. In addition, the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the item type which means that should you upgrade a rare or unique item to an extraordinary type it will have a chance to gain an increased iLevel.

Upgrades can be expensive particularly if you are upgrading your equipment from the standard track to the legendary. The cost of upgrading an item will depend on its base iLevel as well as the number of upgrade levels. Certain upgrade tracks require crests to be completed in order to move on to the next level.

If you're lucky the upgraded item could get to the top of its upgrade track and unlock an additional effect. This will increase the item's upgrade value. The bonus effect will vary with each upgrade level however. In general, the upgrade effect is increased by +3.

The iLevel will also change depending on the item's upgrade path and its base level. For example, a weapon that is upgraded from a rare or unique item to a rare or exceptional item will be able to be upgraded to the enhanced defense of the new base item type.
